Dr, Cynthia Claassen, is Director of Research and Education for the JPS Healthcare Network Behavioral Health and and an adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. She has worked clinically as a hospital-based clinical psychologist, lectured, and supervised doctorate level psychology candidates and psychiatry residents in clinical and research activities in Dallas-Fort Worth academic medical settings for over twenty years. 

Currently she serves on the Steering Committee of the national Suicide Prevention Resource Center and as Co-Lead on the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention's Data and Surveillance Task Force. I have served as a grant reviewer for multiple national and international suicide-related funding programs, and as an ad hoc reviewer for several other medical journals.
